The sample is drawn from the National Agricultural Statistics Service’s (NASS) frame, targeting operations with animals in this commodity in the study states. NASS’ frame aims to cover all places in the United States with $1,000 or more of agricultural products produced and sold, or normally would have been sold, during the year. The sample size varies by year.
