Add to My BasketDescription
The Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study 2008, Third Follow-Up 2018 (B&B:08/18) is part of the Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study (B&B) program. B&B:08/18 (https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/b&b/) is the third follow-up of a longitudinal study that followed a cohort of graduating college seniors who participated in the 2008 National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS:08). The 2008 National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS:08) data provided the base-year sample for B&B:08. NPSAS:08 data are representative of all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in postsecondary institutions in the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico that were eligible to participate in the federal financial aid programs in Title IV of the Higher Education Act, and the B&B cohort is a representative sample of graduating seniors in all majors. Key statistics produced from B&B:08/18 are information primarily about bachelor’s degree recipients’ education and employment experiences. The third follow-up examines their labor market experiences and post-baccalaureate education through the tenth year after graduation.
Detailed Methodology
Sample 17,070; The B&B:2008/18 sample design had multiple stages. The first two stages occurred within the NPSAS:2008 sample: a sample of NPSAS-eligible institutions and a sample of students within institutions. The third stage was B&B:2008/09 specific and provided subsamples from confirmed and potential baccalaureate recipients identified during the second stage of the NPSAS:2008 sample. The B&B:08/12 sample consisted of all B&B:08/09 eligible respondents and all B&B:08/09 nonrespondents. The B&B:08/18 sample consisted of all eligible B&B:08/12 respondents and all B&B:08/12 nonrespondents
