TALIS:13 (https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/talis/) is a cross-sectional survey that is designed to collect information about the teaching workforce, teaching as a profession, and the learning environments of schools. The restricted-use datasets contain two additional variables: NCESSCH (the NCES unique public school identification code) and PPIN (the private school’s unique identification number). These two variables allow users with restricted-use licenses to link TALIS school ID numbers to the school ID numbers as they appear in the publicly available Common Core of Data (CCD) or the Private School Universe Survey (PSS).
