The SafeOCS confidential reporting system collects and analyzes data to advance safety in oil and gas operations on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). It was developed jointly with the Department of Interior's Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). SafeOCS facilitates the capture of essential information about accident precursors and potential hazards associated with offshore operations, including risks related to pipeline safety and offshore transport. The Safety and Pollution Prevention Equipment (SPPE) failure reporting system is comprised critical safety equipment failure reports in production operations.
