BOC Consolidated PIK Crosswalk Current Population Survey (CPS)
Add to My BasketDescription
This dataset provides a crosswalk between the Current Population Survey and the Census Protected Identification Key (PIK). PIKs are numeric codes used for linking records across datasets. PIKs are assigned probabilistically using personally identifying information such as name, date of birth, address, and Social Security Number. The 1940 Census PIKs are "modified" in that they were generated using a modified non-production version of the PVS that incorporated additional experimental components. The consolidated crosswalk is higher quality and has removed duplicate PIKS, but does not contain data for the 1980s. If you need to use data from the 1980s, request the standard CPS crosswalk in addition to the consolidated crosswalk.
Detailed Methodology
The crosswalk uses the same sample as the survey
The consolidated crosswalk is higher quality and has removed duplicate PIKS, but does not contain data for the 1980s. If you need to use data from the 1980s, request the standard CPS crosswalk in addition to the consolidated crosswalk.
