Description

The Auxiliary Establishment Report provides national and state data for auxiliary establishments. Statistics include location, primary functions, employment by type of work, and selected operating and financial data. Beginning in 1982, auxiliary establishments were included in the Economic Census. Since 2002, Census has generated a separate file on auxiliary establishments from the Economic Census based on NAICS code.

Detailed Methodology

Sample

During the economic census years (years ending in 2 and 7) the Enterprise Statistics Program sample is a representative sample of all employer enterprises with operations in the U.S. and the District of Columbia. It consists of two components: (1) All multi-establishment enterprises, and (2) a sample of single-establishment enterprises. Refer to the methodology section of each publication for more information.
