Census Edited File
Add to My BasketDescription
The Census Edited File (CEF) is the edited version of the Census Unedited File (CUF). Once the final universe of addresses, enumeration status, and population count have been established in the Census Unedited File (CUF), editing and imputation are applied to missing and erroneous values for all items. The CEF then contains complete data for all items--all person and household records for the 50 States, D.C., and Puerto Rico, including Group Quarters records with person records for the 2020 Census. Also, this file has been converted from collection geography to tabulation geography. The CEF should be requested only if you plan to link data or obtain household structure. Otherwise, select the Decennial Census dataset (RDG 690), in order to access the Microdata Detail Files (MDF). Selecting the Decennial Census data for 2020 will result in provisioning of the Microdata Detail Files (MDFs). The Census Unedited File (CUF) is not available to data users.
