The National Training, Education, and Workforce Survey (NTEWS) is a nationally representative survey of individuals ages 16 through 75. This survey collects information on the following topics: educational enrollment and attainment, nondegree credential types (vocational certificates, occupational licenses, and industry-recognized certifications), work experience programs such as apprenticeships and internships, employment characteristics, and demographic characteristics. Data from this survey provide information on the prevalence of work-related credentials and the relationship between these credentials and employment outcomes, with a particular focus on the Skilled Technical Workforce, the segment of the U.S. workforce that is highly skilled in science and engineering fields but does not have a bachelor's degree or higher.
