The Census of Construction Industries (CCN) is conducted every 5 years (in years ending with a 2 or 7) as part of the Census Bureaus Economic Census program. These data are the primary source of detailed facts about the Nation's Construction Industry. Data collected in the construction census include employment (construction worker and other), payroll, value of construction work, cost of materials, supplies and fuels, cost of work subcontracted out, capital expenditures, assets and type of construction.Construction Census covers US domestic, excluding territories and commonwealths, operations primarily engaged in these broad types of activities: Building construction, Heavy construction, Land subdivision and/or servicing of land for sale to builders, and Specialty trade contractors.
