Benchmark Survey of Transactions in Selected Services and Intellectual Property with Foreign Persons (Form BE-120)

Description

This survey collects information on U.S. international transactions in all types of services and intellectual property for which information is not collected on the other surveys and is not available to BEA from other sources. The benchmark BE-120 survey is conducted every five years (except for six years between the 2011 and 2017 surveys) and covers the entire universe of transactions in these services and benchmark specific questions in some years.

All U.S. persons who had covered transactions—sales and/or purchases—with affiliated and unaffiliated foreign persons during the reporting period for selected services or by U.S. persons that have entered into agreements with affiliated or unaffiliated foreign persons to buy, sell, or use selected intellectual property or proprietary rights.
